Every Thursday we’ll dig back in the library to mine for some Americana music gems. Hopefully, they get you reminiscing on where you were and who you were when these tunes hit your radar…music has a tendency to do just that…

First up, let’s get The Avett Brothers up…live at Red Rocks. Have to think that would be amazing in every way and the video carries that home. Amazing band, amazing song, amazing venue. Sign me up.

Second offering? Well, since this is the first edition of Flatlands Flashback – I’m going indulge one of the first Americana tunes I loved – Lone Justice “Ways To Be Wicked”. This song was different and grabbed me the moment it hit MTV. I loved MTV and I loved this tune. Lone Justice seemed to burn bright and burn fast (especially the original incarnation of the band), but “Ways To Be Wicked” and Maria McKee stuck with me. Enjoy our Flatlands Flashback to 1985!
